Other Examples:
Tournaments
We don't force our students to compete if they don't want to, however, we do encourage them to try it at least once. It's an amazing experience!
Competing in tournaments isn't for everyone, and that's ok! However, if they choose to do so, we make sure that they are well prepared and feel confident in competing. We will drill a lot, have them learn some great moves that will help them out, and of course have them do lots of matches to help prepare them.
Competing can be a very scary thing to do, so it takes a lot of courage to get out there in front of a lot of people and have a match against someone you don't know.
Trying something new
Trying something new can be very intimidating, and down right scary. You don't know what you are getting yourself into, you don't know if you will like it, what if you aren't good at it, etc...However, instead of focusing on the negatives, think of the positives...what if I like it, or even love it! What if I end up being great at it?! What if something great happens because of it? Stop focusing on the negatives and face your fear of what if. Do it and find out. For example, you tried a new style of food and it tastes amazing, or you tried a new sport/class/etc and you find out you are a natural at it, or you introduced yourself to that person and now you're the best of friends! What ever it is, step out of your comfort zone and try it. You may surprise yourself.

Great place to start learning BJJ.
Peak has excellent coaches and great training partners. Give it a try if you are in the area
Peak has a great atmosphere full of wonderful teammates. No matter what your current fitness level and goals are, you will have support for your work and progress. I've been going to Peak, on and off, for 7 years. The on times make all of life night-and-day better than the off times. I've taken BJJ, Muay Thai, and fitness classes; you can't go wrong. Highly recommended - come see for yourself.
