This month's life skill is FOCUS: paying attention!

Many kids have trouble sitting still and focusing, so what are some ways to help them focus a little more?


  1. Get them moving

    Moving the body helps to motivate the brain. So make sure they have a chance to run around and get a little of that extra energy out before they sit down to do homework.


  3. Remove distractions

    Help your child focus more by removing anything that can distract them, such as tv's, tablets, cell phones, toys, etc.


  5. Make a list

    Kids can get overwhelmed with they have a lot of chores or homework assignments to do. Help them focus more by sitting down with them and writing a list of this they need to do. That way they can focus on one thing at a time and can mark them off their list when they complete it!


  7. Take a break

    Be sure to take a break. This helps them to refocus on what they are doing and can come in with a fresh mind.
