This month's life skill is Kindness: to be nice, friendly, generous, considerate...

What are some ways you can start teaching your child kindness?

1. Understand that importance of kindness

Learn about the different benefits that come from kindness, for both children and adults

2. Create a Kindness Project/Challenge

Challenge your children to ONE act of kindness, or one nice activity, per day. For example, helping clean up, holding the door open for someone, make someone feel good with a compliment, do something for someone, etc...

3. Take the time to SHARE

On a regular basis, take the time to share something with your family. Discuss the highlights of your day. What was the best part? What wasn't so great? What random act of kindness did you do? Share enough so that everyone learns from each others acts of kindness and begins to understand the types of experiences that bring gratitude to life. Sharing encourages self-reflection and helps bring meaning to our actions.

4.Practice!

Partaking in different acts of kindness on a daily basis reinforces the habit, and will become easy to do!
