How We're Different
I get a lot of questions about what makes Peak Performance different than all of the other schools around. It all comes down to the people and the environment. My martial arts journey is very different and has allowed me to build an amazing school for our students. We have helped thousands of students reach their goals since 2003.
Here is my story
In 2003 I left my job as a stock broker at a major Wall Street firm to chase my dream, starting up Peak Performance MMA, and being able to spend more time with my family. I had no idea we would build one of the best academies in the country.
When I started out in BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) I was a college golfer and was one of the worst white belts on Earth! No joke, I was terrible. But this is what has made me so passionate about teaching. I had to develop my own system to improve. Back then BJJ was survival of the fittest and the most athletic and that wasn't me.
I stuck with my Bjj training and figured out ways to close the gaps.
Now I get to compete all over the World and train with the best grapplers on Earth.
I have cornered fighters all over the planet. I have cornered in the UFC, Ultimate FIghter Finale and UFC CHAMPIONSHIP fights (not many people can say that). I studied the best to become a world class cornerman and I have some amazing memories. I have met and trained with the "who's who" of MMA, BJJ and Muay Thai.
After receiving my Black Belt from Travis Lutter. I decided to try MMA out. I had some success and failures. I will never forget winning the EFC middle weight championship. Overcoming that amount of pressure and reaching that goal was an amazing feeling.
After retiring from MMA. I sought out Master Toddy to get the best understanding and teaching style of Muay Thai. I worked my tail off and after years of training with him I was awarded the rank of Kru in Bangkok, Thailand.
I am one of the few people on Earth to have a 3rd degree IBJJF certified black belt, an MMA championship, a BJJ World Championship and the rank of Kru in Muay Thai.
I am always working to become a better instructor. I am one of the few local instructors who still competes, to me I have to compete to make sure I have an understanding of this ever evolving sport.
I get the most enjoyment out of teaching my students and helping them improve on and off the mats.
I have put my heart and soul into Peak Performance to make it the greatest academy in the country. You will not find another academy that can offer you what we can; Great instruction, great hours, great facility, great pricing, and great people.
Most importantly I pride our academy on helping out students reach their goal. Let us know your goals and we will do everything we can to make you our next success story.
